Profile
Muhammad Farooq Ali Jatoi has practised law in Sindh since 2012, with criminal defence at the centre of his work. He was enrolled as an Advocate of the High Court in 2014 and of the Supreme Court of Pakistan in 2026. He appears in bail applications, trials and appeals before the High Court of Sindh at its principal seat and its benches, and before the sessions courts of the province, and in criminal petitions before the Supreme Court in Islamabad. More than fifteen cases in which he has appeared are reported in All Pakistan Legal Decisions (PLD).
Since 2012 he has contested more than 1,000 cases, including murder and narcotics trials, other criminal and civil trials, appeals and constitutional petitions before the High Court of Sindh, the Federal Shariat Court and the Supreme Court of Pakistan. He represents accused persons, and also complainants in criminal trials, from the initial stage until the final appeal.
Anti-Narcotics Force
From 2021 to 2025 he served as Legal Consultant and Special Prosecutor to the Anti-Narcotics Force, Regional Directorate Sindh. In that role he conducted narcotics prosecutions himself, and he knows at first hand how investigations are run, how recoveries are recorded and how a prosecution case is assembled. That knowledge informs his defence work in narcotics cases today.
Institutional work and teaching
He is a panel advocate for Sui Southern Gas Company Limited, Sukkur Electric Power Company and the National Bank of Pakistan. He serves on the Board of Directors of Mirza Khan Law College, Pano Akil, and teaches there as visiting faculty.
Family, inheritance and land matters
Alongside criminal defence, the chamber takes on the family and property disputes that families in Sindh most often bring to it, including families who now live abroad. Much of this work is done for clients who cannot be present, through a power of attorney and regular contact over WhatsApp.
Family
- Divorce, khula and dissolution of marriage
- Dower (haq mehr) and maintenance for a wife and children
- Custody and guardianship of children
- Recovery of dowry articles
Inheritance
- Succession certificates and letters of administration, including through NADRA
- Fauti khata: entering the heirs in the revenue record after a death
- Division of inherited land, houses and bank accounts among heirs
- Challenges to transfers, gifts and entries made to deprive a lawful heir
Land and property
- Mutation (intiqal) and correction of the revenue record
- Checking title and revenue entries before land is bought
- Recovery of land and houses from illegal possession
- Agreements to sell, specific performance and cancellation of documents
- Agricultural land, tenancy and boundary disputes
For families abroad
- Representation through a power of attorney attested at the Pakistani embassy or consulate, so no travel is needed
- Documents collected and shared over WhatsApp and email
- Protection of property from occupation while the owner is away
- Succession and division of an estate among heirs living in different countries
How these matters are handled
- The fee for each stage is agreed in writing before work begins, and a receipt is issued for every payment.
- You receive a copy of every document filed in your name.
- A power of attorney is limited to the specific matter, and nothing is sold, settled or withdrawn without your written instruction.
- You hear from the chamber after each hearing or revenue proceeding.
How he works
- A candid assessment first
- At the first meeting you are told where the case is strong, where it is weak, and what each course of action is likely to cost in time and money. That includes telling you when the better course is not to litigate.
- Advice from the documents
- The FIR, challan, recovery memos, medical reports and witness statements are read before advice is given. A case is judged on its record, not on a summary of it.
- Conducted personally
- He appears in court himself. The advocates of the chamber assist with filing and keep you informed, but the arguments are his.
- Updated after every hearing
- You, and any advocate who referred you, hear from the chamber after each date in court: what happened, and what comes next.

Consultations
Consultations are held in person at the chamber in Sukkur, or online by WhatsApp video or voice call, in Sindhi, Urdu or English.
Online consultations are for people who cannot easily come to the chamber:
- Families anywhere in Sindh and across Pakistan
- Families living abroad whose relative is facing a criminal case in Sindh
- Advocates in other cities who need counsel before the High Court of Sindh or the courts of the province
How to arrange one
- Send a WhatsApp message to +92 311 3444324 with your name, your district and one line about the matter.
- You will receive a short intake form. It asks for the names of the accused and the complainant, so that any conflict of interest can be ruled out before anything is discussed.
- Send copies of whatever documents you have: FIR, challan, bail orders, judgments or court notices.
- The consultation fee is confirmed and paid in advance to fix the appointment.
- Within 48 hours of the consultation you receive a short written note of the advice and the next steps.
Fees
Consultations are charged at a fixed fee, confirmed when you make contact and paid in advance. Urgent consultations for a recent arrest or an imminent hearing are arranged the same day wherever possible. Payment is by bank transfer or Raast; clients abroad pay by international bank transfer.
Please note
- A consultation is advice based on the documents and information you provide. It does not by itself engage the advocate to appear in court.
- Court representation is agreed separately, with its own fee and a signed vakalatnama.
- No advocate can guarantee the outcome of a case.
If someone has just been arrested
Send the FIR number, the police station and the date of arrest by WhatsApp to +92 311 3444324. Urgent matters are reviewed the same day during chamber hours.
For advocates
Advocates elsewhere in Pakistan or abroad whose clients face criminal matters in Sindh may contact the chamber about local counsel. The referring advocate receives an update after each hearing, and the client relationship remains with them.
Common questions
- Can you handle my case if I live outside Pakistan?
- Yes. Most matters, including inheritance, land and family cases, can be conducted through a power of attorney attested at the Pakistani embassy or consulate in your country. Documents are exchanged over WhatsApp and email, and you are updated after every hearing.
- A family member has been arrested. What should I send first?
- The FIR number, the name of the police station and the date of arrest. If you have a copy of the FIR, send that too. The chamber will tell you whether bail can be applied for and what is needed.
- Do you take cases outside Sukkur?
- Yes. The chamber appears before the High Court of Sindh at Karachi and its benches, the sessions courts across Sindh, the Federal Shariat Court, and the Supreme Court of Pakistan in Islamabad.
- How is the fee decided?
- Consultations are a fixed fee, paid in advance. For a case, the fee for each stage is agreed in writing before work begins, and a receipt is issued for every payment.
- What is the difference between a consultation and engaging the chamber?
- A consultation is advice on your documents. Engaging the chamber to appear in court is a separate agreement with its own fee and a signed vakalatnama.
- Which languages do you work in?
- Sindhi, Urdu and English.
Confidentiality
Documents and messages shared with the chamber are treated as confidential. Please send documents only to the WhatsApp number given here, and take the consultation call from a private place.
